Came to my appointment with more aches and pains than I care to mention, including painful sciatica and historical pinched nerve in neck. Marika was kind, caring professional and fully explained everything I needed to know. After a full hour of excellent massage, everything I asked to be focused on was, I was extremely relaxed, felt in much less pain and left like I was floating on air. Will definitely be back soon. I previously had only had one or two massages before on holiday so didn't know what to expect. When i came in i sat down with Marika and talked her through any specific tense areas that i had and told her what pressure i would be happy with. I come regularly for a massage as I find Marika the best therapist who does it to my liking. She is very professional and thorough, applying the right amount of firm pressure. As it is therapeutic for me, I find Marika ) is wonderful. I came in with neck muscle spasms and shoulder issues and her technique and deep tissue massage made all the difference. I visited marika recently as i had a strain in the back of my knee which wasn't getting any better no matter how much stretching i did. Following a consultation she work hard on the area behind the knee and as expected i was stiff the next day but by day 2 i'd fully recovered. brillaint service and i have gone back again for my back this time!

Just had my 2nd visit and felt even better than my first one visit. Room was warm and welcoming, Marika made sure I was happy with treatment before she started. At the end I felt so relaxed and refreshed. Didn't want it to end
My first massage treatment with Marika was very successful. I suffer from chronic, painful neck and back tension which causes headaches. I arrived at Marix in pain and with a headache. Marika spent time to learn about me, my symptoms and previous therapies. Her massage was bang on. Firm enough to get to the tension then, by the end, gentle enough that I fell asleep! 3 days later the tension is still 80% decreased and no headache since the treatment. Thank you Marika!

I had not visited Marika since the lifting of lockdown restrictions, as usual life had got in the way and the novelty of a ten-day holidays plus golf and fishing getaways meant that I was away for various periods and when I was not household matters took priority.
Autumn is the time when my body starts to demand its annual MOT and service with aches and pains becoming more apparent due to cooler damper conditions. There was nothing major although I was bothered by a sore wrist joint that I thought was being caused by the repetitive strain of hitting golf balls on the damper, heavier ground of September and October and if things did not improve a lay off to rest the injury would be needed. It was “Marika Time.”
I booked in for a sixty-minute massage and asked for a general check over of the muscles. I also mentioned the wrist problem FOR which Marika offered some advice on what might help, said that she would see what she could do via massage but advised that if it continued a visit to the GP may be required.
Marika delivered the massage in her usual highly professional manner with comments about my back muscles and a reminder to “sit up straight” and not tuck my legs under my bum when watching television on the sofa as “your body was not built to do that Colin!”
Near the end Marika had a look at the troublesome wrist and after a good search around concluded that the source of my pain was from the top of the muscle just below the inner elbow and proceeded to treat and manipulate the area. The relief was immediate, what had been a stiff and sore joint was relieved and the following day I played my first round of pain free golf for a few weeks.
I have deliberately left posting this review until now as I wanted to see how things went. So far there has been no deterioration and because of playing pain free I am playing better and returning lower scores. I honestly think that the pain I was in affected my game and sub consciously I was protecting the injury and therefore not fully committing to shots.
Marika is so in tune with her clients and has a wonderful knack of sensing their discomfort during treatments which enables her to provide the appropriate treatment and deal with their issues more effectively. I will be returning much sooner next time. Many thanks Marika.

Shoulder pain
I was suffering from sharp shooting pains in my back and around my left shoulder blade. I managed to get a short notice appointment and wasn’t disappointed!! It wasn’t easy to get out but after one session and the morning after it was so much better few days later I was back to normal. Definitely recommend visiting MARIX THERAPY very friendly professional and experienced. Will be going back more regular.

At arrival my temperature was taken and while both of us were wearing masks, Marika was asking into my requirements and what I wanted to the massage. While facing down I wasn't required to wear a mask. Marika managed to loosen up my shoulders and neck and I felt like a new person walking out. With it being over a year since my last visit due to lockdowns, I was overdue some work on my back, neck and shoulders in particular. After seeing Vanessa for years I had never been treated by Marika before.

This time I had a session with Marika and as always, she spends time asking about what I want to get out of the session, so she can tailor the session and the strength. This time she combined a slow and more relaxing massage (so I almost fell asleep), but at the same time she managed to loosen up my neck and shoulders. One of the little recognised benefits of having a regular massage is the way it works on many levels to create a feeling of well-being. What I love about the treatments at Marix Therapy is you are always asked how you feel upon walking in, what issues you may have, and how you want to feel when you leave. It really helps you to connect with yourself and makes you take a bit of responsibility for your body.
The magic is in the hands of the extremely well trained therapists, who will assess what you need for the outcome you seek, whether you are struggling with some tight muscles, general lethargy, stiff neck etc etc the treatment will be effective and your feedback actively sought whilst they are hands on. You are always treated with the greatest respect, and you always walk out feeling like a better version of you.

I had not seen Marika for some time, not just because of the obvious lock down issues but prior to that life had just seemed to get in the way and I hadn’t made the time to give myself some chillax time. So when I received the e-mail advising that Marix were reopening I was delighted and booked immediately, lock down, two close family bereavements, an excess of golf the previous week and a hurried home decorating job had left me tired, achy and more than a little stressed. I needed therapy and quick!!
There was a little curiosity and trepidation as to how the treatment would go given the “new normal” guidelines that now have to be followed but everything was explained in Marika’s usual professional manner and the how and the why posed no real issue although I did have to giggle at the sight of Marika in “the mask” after all I’d never had a massage from Darth Vader before!!
Safely tucked up on the treatment table Marika proceeded to expertly remove the tension, aches and pains from the muscles in arms, legs shoulders and back as only she can. The forty-five minutes sailed by in the bat of an eye leaving me floating in a warm, softly undulating, fluffy marshmallow sea. Mission well and truly accomplished.
Thanks Marika, I will not be leaving it so long in future.

I came for my first massage with Marix Therapy yesterday as I had a lot of tension in my back/shoulders and neck which had built up. I'd never been for a message before so I didn't really know what to expect. I had the 'signature massage' with Marika, it was totally amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. The entire process from start to finish was really professional and relaxing, definitely worth the price. I left feeling really great, light, and relaxed. I got everything I needed from the massage, I didn't realise just how tense I was until afterwards. I'll definetely be visiting again!

I have been looking for somewhere to have a deep tissue massage as I have very sore and tight back muscles from working out. I was initially concerned with the cost. I took advantage of the new client offer for a full body deep tissue massage.
I was given the opportunity to discuss my needs and to discuss the pressure needed.
the massage was really good and very relaxing, pdeep pressure was applied in the areas needed and then a more gentle massage which left me feeling very relaxed. The massage room was beautifu, warm and relaxing.
I knew that I would need more than one session on my back muscles,and I'm happy with the results.
I have booked for a further sports massage but I will be booking another deep tissue massage with Amanda. Highy recommended!

IT Band Hell
I visit the gym three or four times a week, which means my IT Bands end up tight and in need of regular maintenance. Until I started visiting Vanessa, I had no idea what was causing the pain in my legs, but now I am able to keep on top of it with regular massages. I used to visit Marika farly regularly when she was in her old place but for various reasons, all of them of my own doing I had not seen her for nearly 3 years. That can only be descibed as a huge mistake. Her 60 minute massage had the desired affect of loosening my stiff neck and shoulders. I really did feel that a huge weight had been lifted from me immediately after my treatment. Highly professional and competent Marika takes great interest in her clients needs and well being, even if she did have a good giggle when my shoulder made a huge crack during her skilfull manipulation. Highly recommended for new clients and if you are an existing customer please don't make the same mistake as I did and leave it too long before returning.

This was my second visit to Marix and it was amazing. After having a lot of stress build up due to family changes I was very tense in my shoulders, to the point where it was painful in my neck and radiating down my arm. I had a 45 min massage with Vanessa and all pain has gone. From consultation to end review she really listens and takes on board what you need. The massage is exactly the right strength and I felt so relaxed through the whole massage. I walked in in a lot of pain, I was nervous about going but had got to the stage where I had to try something & I'm very happy I did. As soon as I walked in I felt at ease, they listened to me ( unlike my doctors) & told me step by step how they could try & help me. My back , shoulders etc were very sore and uncomfortable before my 60 minute appointment with Maria . She gave me a Sports Massage and it has been a big help . Very easy to talk to , 100% attentive to my problem and my requirements , just the right amount of pressure applied to get things moving and a clear explanation of some exercises to help me + a summary of the options open to me in terms of future bookings . It was very worthwhile and I feel sure I will be back . I started visiting Marix Therapy early part of this year due to the fact I had been suffering with a lower back problem for years and not one for taking tablets I wanted to try a different route to try and ease the pain.After the first consultation at Marix Therapy we started a program of trying different massage techniques to hopefully tackle my problem,well I can now tell you that after around five appointments over the year with the help of the staff at Marix Therapy especially Marika we have found the treatment that works to relieve my pain,my last appointment was on Tuesday and I would like to thank Marika for having the patience to sit and discuss the best way to tackle my problem.Anyone who is suffering with any type of pain I would definitely recommend them visit Marix Therapy where they will be made very welcome and you can sample the 5 star treatment as soon as you go through the door,this is an amazingly run business ,thank you Marika

I would highly recommend Marix Therapy for a massage that really gets to the crux of any problem. Ive had a few massages with Vanessa and she is just simply the best. Before each session Vanessa finds out exactly what you want to achieve, IE relaxation, deep tissue and any problems you may be having. She then tailors the massage exactly to your needs, using different massage techniques. After each massage I felt immediate improvement in the pain I was experiencing in one of my shoulders. I have no reservations in recommending Vanessa. She is professional, welcoming and very friendly and I always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I can't wait to return.

I've been visiting Vanessa for 8 months and she has diagnosed and rectified a number of issues. She has the ability to transition from a deep sports massage to attack those troublesome areas, to a relaxing head and face massage to de-stress at the end of the session. No Regrets!!
I used to have a monthly massage at another local therapy centre, but decided to give Marix a try as they were closer to me. Several months later and many amazing massages later, I am pleased to say I have no regrets what so ever. Vanessa starts each session by understanding what stresses and strains I have that need attention, and always makes sure she works on those problem areas. After all of the amazing treatments she has given me, I am pleased to say that I feel a million times better than when I started. I still have my monthly massages with Vanessa, but they are now more about relaxing and enjoying myself, whilst keeping on top of those problem areas. I can highly recommend Vanessa and Marix Therapy.

which got me through the Manchester marathon, I don't think I would have been able to without her help.
Her knowledge of sports injuries and the exercises/treatments to rectify issues is of a very high level.

Vanessa, my therapist, is extremely knowledgeable, patient and professional in equal measure.
She has helped me with various issues during my sports massage treatments and also offers fantastic home care advice and suggests different treatments to best benefit my situation.
The reception area is clean and comfortable and the massage area is wonderfully comfortable and well presented with low lighting, heated couch and a eucalyptus scented diffuser which is my personal favourite.
The online booking system is easy to use and informative.
All in all, a five star experience.

Had my second massage with Vanessa and told her I had some pain in my hips. As well as the full body massage, she concentrated on my glutes to relieve my hip pain. She gave a very hard and deep massage, and I felt like a new person at the end. I've booked in for a 75 minute session in 3 weeks time so she can spend a bit longer on some of the key areas for me.

I have had two massages now from Vanessa - the first was very soothing and the second was even more relaxing but definitely more effective as more pressure was used in my most tense areas and I definitely felt more relaxed after and looser which I don't always feel post massage. Would highly recommend as Vanessa is very knowledgeable and would be able to advise the best opinion dependent on personal situation.

I started off with terrible pain in the upper part of my back - I could also feel it in my chest and ribcage. The pain was so bad it was making me feel sick and was affecting me at work. Within a few minutes of my first session with Marika, she had located the problem and started working on it. After just 1 session, the majority of the intense pain had disappeared and 3 further sessions later, the problem has been completed fixed. Thank you so much, Marika, for your wonderful work!!!

Rotator Cuff rehabilitation
I have seen Marianna for three massages - deep tissue. She is helping me in the release of muscles associated with a torn rotator cuff, tendonitis and impingement. Basicall y I have tighness, lots of knots due to lack of use of shoulder but also having not been able to exercise properly for 8-12 weeks. She has been professional, skilled and creative in her approach. I find her very responsive. She listens to me and assesses what me and my my body need each week thentailors her massage to that. I trust her judgement and would recommend her to anyone.

I have visited Marix Therapy on a few occasions.The first time was a relaxing full body massage and I felt so chilled I could have gone to sleep. The last couple of times I have had a back strain and after discussing with Marika and Vanessa I decided to concentrate the whole massage on my back. I was recommended to go to Marix Therapy a few months ago by a friend after i was suffering aches and pains as a result of my work lifestyle. I essentially spend a lot of time at my desk and i do not hold the best posture which leads to these aches and pains developing.
After visiting Marix Therapy it was evident that the treatment had helped dramatically and i was so happy with their service that i have since been back multiple times.
Both Vanessa and Marika show high levels of attention to detail and are able to offer (and deliver upon) a tailored treatment completely determined by yourself.

I really enjoyed my last massage, I came away feel relaxed and rested. I had a bad night sleep and couldn't fall off so I booked myself in the next day. The Hopi ears cleared my ears of hard built up ear wax and the sinus and facial massage helped to relieve built up tension.

Her professionalism and passion were evident in every aspect of my visit, from the attention to detail in the set up of the room, the comprehensive consultation at the start of the appointment and the wonderful massage I received. Marika really took the time to find out what I wanted from the session and I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I cannot recommend Marika warmly enough; I will definitely be returning and have already booked my mum in for an appointment!

I came in extremely stressed and rundown from work and left place revitalised as I walked home, light on my feet. At the beginning Vanessa, who is very accommodating, discussed the intensity of the massage with me, asking which areas needed more focus. She couldn't have done her job better as she targeted my tense areas straight away loosening my whole body and almost sent me to sleep for the rest of the session. After getting my favourite, full-body massage, I feel relaxed, my mind is clear and I feel ready to take on the day-to-day again.
Vanessa is an excellent therapist. She is knowledgeable, skilful, calming, and obviously a talented therapist. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
